Miami, fl has an abundance of [intlink id=”7″ type=”page”]recording studios[/intlink]. With the Latin, EDM, and enormous hip hop market, and as a destination for national and international acts, there is no wondering why! Getting the most out of a recording studio means knowing exactly what you need, and what is available. Are you tracking vocals only? You are likely not in need of an enormous SSL mixing room that books at $1000/day or more. Are you recording a big band or group with 8 or more performing at the same time? You may need one of Miami’s larger live rooms with facilities that can accommodate. Today more than ever, major label recordings are being made, and albums are being mixed by smaller facilities that have two critical pieces working for them: incredibly well trained, vetted recording engineers, an accurate studio environment, and the might of high end analog and digital recording equipment. Aside from being a recording and mixing engineer with over a decade of Major Label recording experience, we own a retail company that sells the bleeding edge equipment that recording studios are using today. Not only are we fully informed on what the latest and greatest equipment being used, we actually own most of it. Software plugins like Waves, Universal Audio, McDSP, Sonnox can cost recording studios tens of thousands of dollars. We have all of this at our clients disposal, as authorized dealers for these brands. The same too can be said for the latest Avid HDX […]
A good engineer can either make, or break a session. Moreover, even if you have your part locked-down tight, if the engineer can’t accomodate your workflow, this can be very stifling. Before even booking a session, an artist should know the person with whom they will be working, and what the environment will be like. Also, if there are any special needs you might need as an Artist (whether its food in the area, a place to keep water cool, etc.), these are things that should be talked about beforehand. Also, remember that an engineer is more than a man running a machine, he is the one who is helping you translate your vision on to “tape” (or in this case bits). It’s important that the engineer has a firm grasp of the genre of music, or in the least, has prepared for the session by getting acquainted with what’s to be recorded/mixed. A good team can go a long way. Make sure you pick the right one. Our selection of the finest, most well vetted recording engineers, makes the Fish Tank Studios a fantastic choice for your next [intlink id=”7″ type=”page”]recording session in Miami.[/intlink]
Here at the Fish Tank studios we take our recording equipment choices and acoustics very seriously. Actually, the physical properties of our studio were well thought out and designed by award winning designer Jeff Hedback (formerly of Auralex), who specified that we use recycled bluejeans within our walls! We have been painstaking about our attention to accuracy in our listening environment, and choice of studio equipment. Avid HD Native, Universal Audio Octo Ultimate plugin suite, every plugin known to man, fantastic microphones and vintage outboard gear are not what make the Fish Tank Recording studios great. It is it’s engineers that make it great! Chief engineer Josh Lewis has worked with a who’s who list of current recording artists like Lil Wayne, Madonna, Shakira, Ricky Martin, and many others. Our engineers have been through countless arduous major label recording sessions, and have paid there dues with years of apprenticeship, and a boat load of very expensive education (Full Sail)! Their ears and abilities, their mastery of their craft are 90% of the value you get at the Fish Tank. Without them our $100k in equipment would be useless! Come book a [intlink id=”7″ type=”page”]recording session in miami, fl[/intlink] today!!!
