Choosing a Recording Studio Miami, Fl

Miami, fl has an abundance of [intlink id=”7″ type=”page”]recording studios[/intlink]. With the Latin, EDM, and enormous hip hop market, and as a destination for national and international acts, there is no wondering why! Getting the most out of a recording studio means knowing exactly what you need, and what is available. Are you tracking vocals only? You are likely not in need of an enormous SSL mixing room that books at $1000/day or more. Are you recording a big band or group with 8 or more performing at the same time? You may need one of Miami’s larger live rooms with facilities that can accommodate. Today more than ever, major label recordings are being made, and albums are being mixed by smaller facilities that have two critical pieces working for them: incredibly well trained, vetted recording engineers, an accurate studio environment, and the might of high end analog and digital recording equipment. Aside from being a recording and mixing engineer with over a decade of Major Label recording experience, we own a retail company that sells the bleeding edge equipment that recording studios are using today. Not only are we fully informed on what the latest and greatest equipment being used, we actually own most of it. Software plugins like Waves, Universal Audio, McDSP, Sonnox can cost recording studios tens of thousands of dollars. We have all of this at our clients disposal, as authorized dealers for these brands. The same too can be said for the latest Avid HDX […]

Mixing at the NEW Fish Tank – Recording Studio Miami FL!

CURRENT MOOD: Peoplewatch. Mixing engineer Paul Garcia working on final mixes for the Peoplewatch record 'Sideways,' which will be released on March 26th, 2016. Paul is using the UA 1176 Classic Limiting Amplifier Plug-ins in a serial chain. One with a slow release and another with a fast release. Depending on the source, either the fast or slow release 1176 is being used first in the chain. Before compressing the instrument bus, Paul sets a UA SSL E-Channel Strip. The "equaliserselect" button is a great way to get a different character out of the EQ without interrupting workflow. The onboard compressor on the E-Channel sounds great on rock guitars when the Ratio is set to 1, Threshold is set to -20, and the Release is set to .1. http://www.uaudio.com/store/compressors-limiters/1176-collection.html http://www.uaudio.com/store/channel-strips/ssl-e-series-channel-strip.html Come and create at our recording studio miami !

What to look for in a studio?

All right. What would you recommend that people look for in a recording studio? I would recommend that people take their time looking for the right environment for the songs, depending on what genre of music and what atmosphere the artist wants to create. They should look for the right size room, the right room that feels a certain way that you would be comfortable performing your music in and that would ultimately add to the mix that you want for that song. Aside from that, the engineers that you’ll be working with are super important, because these are the people you’re going to spend eight hours a day with and that are going to be responsible for giving you feedback on your takes and setting all the equipment how it needs to be set for the song. Engineers, you want people that maybe share similar taste in music or maybe have some alternate perspectives that would add to the recording.

Recording studio Miami: What makes Little Fish Audio Special?

What would you say makes Little Fish Audio special? I think Little Fish Audio is special because we are a small company that is trying to do big things. We deal with a lot of high-end recording equipment that a lot of people locally don’t even know about and could really benefit from. This is a place where you can come try these things out so you don’t have to take the expense or the risk of ordering it and then maybe trying to return it. You can just come here and take your time and also talk to people who have used the gear before and see if it’s really the best bang for you book. A lot of times someone will come in with an idea of what they think they need and we end up recommending something that is much more cost effective and may give them a lot more.
